Welcome! from the management team of proprietors Gareth and Patrick the Lass O'Gowrie is an all-consuming passion. We believe this 'grand old dame' of Charles Street to be, quite simply Manchester's perfect pub.From the outside, the Lass is a genuine Manchester icon clad in genuine Threlfall tiling, making the pub one of the most sought after filming locations in the City. Once inside, the interior is resplendent in Victorian charm and Gemütlichkeit, punctuated with original art sourced from local artists. Although spacious, there is a plethora of intimate nooks and crannies, not least of which is our eccentric, charming snug.
An extensive ale offer remains the jewel in our crown, showcasing up to 9 varieties at any one time - including rarities sourced independently from the North West and Wales. Our excellence with real ale was recognised by Stockport and South Manchester CAMRA who made us Pub of the Month for October 2006. This is ably supported by a well chosen wine list and over 30 whiskies. Traditional food, all of which is prepared from fresh, locally sourced ingredients by our experienced kitchen team, is served every day. House specialities include what we believe to be the best home-baked pies in the City, together with fine stews, roasts and hotpots.
